Terms and Conditions

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using CVDesignHub (the "App"), you agree to these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the App. These Terms should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how the App handles data.

2. Who can use the App

The App is not directed at children under 13, and you should not use it if you are under the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction without a parent or guardian's involvement.

3. No account, no fees

CVDesignHub does not require registration, sign-up, or payment to use its core resume and cover letter building features. There is no subscription and no paywall for the features currently offered. If paid features are ever introduced in the future, these Terms will be updated to describe them before they apply to you.

4. Your content

Everything you type into the App — personal details, work history, education, skills, summaries, and cover letter text ("Your Content") — belongs to you. We do not claim any ownership over Your Content. As explained in the Privacy Policy, Your Content is stored locally in your browser and is not transmitted to us, so we have no ability to access, use, or license it.

You are solely responsible for the accuracy of Your Content, including any claims, dates, qualifications, or achievements you include in a resume or cover letter. Do not include content that is false, defamatory, infringes someone else's rights, or that you are not authorized to use.

5. Uploaded files

If you upload an existing resume file (PDF or DOCX) to import your information, you confirm that you have the right to use and process that file. Uploaded files are parsed locally in your browser and are not transmitted to our servers.

6. The templates, design, and app code

The resume/cover letter templates, visual designs, layout code, and other elements of the App itself (excluding Your Content) are provided by CVDesignHub for use in creating your own documents. You may use the templates to generate personal resumes and cover letters for your own job search purposes. You may not resell, redistribute, or repackage the templates or App as your own product or service.

7. AI Assist feature

The "AI Assist" feature generates suggested phrasing to help you draft content faster. As described in the Privacy Policy, this currently runs on built-in templates within your browser rather than a live external AI service. Suggested content is a starting point only — you are responsible for reviewing, editing, and verifying that anything generated is accurate, truthful, and appropriate before including it in your resume or cover letter.

8. ATS scoring and job-matching features

The App includes features that estimate an "ATS score" or match your resume against a job description. These are provided for general guidance only. We do not guarantee that any score reflects how a specific employer's applicant tracking system, recruiter, or hiring process will actually evaluate your resume. Real-world ATS software varies widely between employers, and scoring in the App is an approximation, not a certification of compatibility or a promise of interview or job outcomes.

9. No professional advice

CVDesignHub is a self-service writing and formatting tool. It does not provide career counseling, legal advice, or professional resume-writing services, and nothing in the App should be treated as a substitute for advice from a qualified career counselor, recruiter, or other professional.

10. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the App to create content that is unlawful, fraudulent (for example, fabricating credentials, degrees, or employment history with intent to deceive an employer), or that infringes on the intellectual property or rights of others. You also agree not to attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, disrupt, or interfere with the App's normal operation, or to use automated means to abuse the App's features.

11. Third-party services

The App uses Google Analytics (via Google Tag Manager) to understand feature usage, as described in our Privacy Policy. Your use of the App is also subject to the terms of your web browser and any browser extensions you use. We are not responsible for the availability or performance of third-party services outside our control.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or secure. We do not guarantee that documents generated by the App will be accepted by any employer, job board, or applicant tracking system, or that use of the App will result in job offers or interviews.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CVDesignHub and its creator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of income, opportunity, or data, arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the App — including but not limited to reliance on ATS scores, AI-suggested content, or job-matching results. Because Your Content is stored only on your device, you are responsible for maintaining your own backups; we are not liable for loss of Your Content due to browser data clearing, device failure, or similar events.

14. Changes to the App and these Terms

We may update, modify, or discontinue features of the App at any time. We may also revise these Terms from time to time; material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the creator's home jurisdiction, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where local consumer protection law requires otherwise for users in their own country.
